ADDITIONAL QUOTES:
Introduction taken from www.eu91serbianleague.com ::
"recorded between 1999 and 2000, released on Friday the 13th, October
2000. This stands as the most cynical and annihilating Cripple Bastards release
to date, each song on it (above all the lyrical structure) has been written
and revisited through the whole CB's history. And each song is a story of real
life, existential decay captured and portraited through the peculiar CB mentality.
The musical approach is an exasperated amalgamation of late '80s Grind/Thrashcore,
ultrafast Hardcore plus various influences from other genres. This is hyperfast,
raw and obsessive. Alberto the Crippler (sadly at its last effort before quitting)
reaches the top in his distortion mania - viciously amalgamated with the equally
mega-distorted STW's bass, Walter Dr. Tomas (now playing in Shandon) gives a
unique drum effort with the constant feel of wanting to accelerate himself over
his possibilities. This is with no trace of a doubt the most negative thing
that ever came out in the history of Italy's music, both lyrically and musically.
E.U.'91 released the LP version (pressed on special 200 gram heavy vinyl!) in
a wonderful full-color gatefold cover and 24 page booklet. Just the packaging
itself is a graphical masterpiece. 1000 on black wax, 1000 on transparent violet.
Over 6000 copies (LP, CD, MC) sold all together. It got tons of ultra-positive
reviews on the main italian underground mags and finally brought CB an own audience
staying far away from the PC @punk cliches. One of the biggest goals we ever
realized". Some extra tips about "Misantropo...": the front
cover art shows an act of vandalism that was diffused here in Italy some years
ago: throwing stones on busy highways from the bridges passing over. We thought
this was one of the most inhuman traces of civil regression and kinda fitted
perfectly the "one-way misanthrope" concept. The ending track ("94
x flashback di massacro") is the remake of a 94 track Demo CB did many
years before and that came out as 4 Way splt with Filthy Charity, Harsh Feelings
and Grimcorpses. It took ages to record this album, nearly 10x than the following
"Desperately insensitive"). This becoz the sound-engineer (that quit
working w/ us after this) was more and more non-motivated and hostile to the
kind of music we were doing, andalso becoz the drummer played in a very unusual
way aking it extremely difficult to synchronize the voice when it was GTB's
turn. It took him more than 2 weeks to complete the vocal parts... All in all
this was a damned album and will always stand as a love-it-or-hate-it item,
some fans says it's with no doubt our best thing ever - some others found it
was too raw and nihilistic for their taste.
